Why is that even Christians don't believe in the Bible?

The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.

- Isaiah 40:8

So I'm having this conversation with someone I know from back home about some stuff, and she disagreed with what I had to say. So at this point I start giving her scripture to back up what I'm saying, and then she starts saying "Well you know, the Bible isn't exactly God's word". So I ask her "Who's word is it then?" And she said that it originally was, but men corrupted it over time. She then proceeds to say that it isn't His word, but rather it is what the disciples and Paul thought Jesus wanted us to do.

Well this is typical. Usually people love the Bible when it helps them justify what they are doing. Usually someone who is in the process of being reproved will back their self up with scripture, until they can't anymore. Then and only then do they say "Well, the Bible isn't God's word" or "Well, the Bible is open to many interpretations". But that's a whole other debate.

So since I have a little free time, I decided to vent a bit. It sickens me at time to hear Christians say that stuff. God tells us that the Bible is His word:

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
- 2 Timothy 3:16

For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
- 1 Peter 1:21

Secondly look at the scripture that I posted at the very top. That was God's promise to US. His word would not fade away. Exactly what type of God do you have faith in that would allow His word to be corrupted by man? Well, you might then say "Well God didn't write that, Isaiah did". That's interesting. Isaiah was a prophet. Who gave him the ability to tell the future? Satan? The Bible never mentions Satan's ability to tell the future. So God was the one who gave Him that power. That lines up with what Peter says in 1 Peter 1:21

People, stop listening to the lies of Satan and his minions. God promised us that His word would stand forever. Its not going to go away. Stop deceiving yourselves to give yourselves excuses not to do God's will in your life. God's word stands forever! Its your true source of guidance in this world!

About me

  • I'm Preventer Wind
  • From Clarkson University, New York, United States
  • I was born and raised in Brooklyn, for the most part. My parents sent me to live in Barbados when I was 5 and brought me back here 2 months before I was going to turn 8. I was fairly intelligent, until I came to Clarkson :-P. My grades went south, but I refuse to give up! As hard as things get in life (and things have gotten plenty hard in mine), I have learned not to give up, but to keep faith in Jesus who I gave my life to at the age of 13. And no, my parents didn't make me. I made that decision on my own. They never once even suggested that I get saved. I chose to with my own contrite heart. So above all else, Jesus comes first in my life. So I'm a cool guy, I love everyone, dislike no one, but I HATE to be annoyed! (You're entitled to hate me all you want, but please don't aggrevate me! ) I'm a huge sports fan! Even though I'm pretty knowledgeable in sports, all my favorite teams stink (Raiders, Kings, Mets). Other than that, I'm pretty much game to do anything that's at least permissable by God. So what else is there to know about me? Read the rest of my profile!
